Within Human Geography, the focus is on the analysis of urban areas and the broader regions of which they are part. Included in this track are courses on the geographic structure of the modern North American city, and the processes that shape it: courses in political geography, locational analysis, transportation geography, and industrial location. This track provides students with concepts, theories, and methods appropriate to the geographic analysis of the urbanization process at the local, national, and international scales. Students could supplement this track with courses or a minor in related disciplines such as Sociology, Economics, or City and Regional Planning.
